Electronic vaporizer work by vaporizing a liquid solution with a heating coil. This solution is commonly referred to as eliquid or eJuice, and contains nicotine, flavoring, water and either propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG) or a combination of the two.
The majority of the liquid will be either PG or VG, and the e liquid will have slightly different properties depending on which one is used. VG is a thicker liquid and will produce a thicker, denser cloud of vapor when used in an e-vapoizer. It also has a sweet taste that will come through in any liquid that it’s used in, so it will mask the flavor of the liquid somewhat. It will also produce a smoother vapor that is not as harsh on the back of the throat when inhaled.
PG will produce a slightly less dense cloud of vapor, the flavor of the liquid will be stronger, and it will feel harsher on the back of the throat when inhaled.
Our e-liquids use a combination of both PG and VG. The ratio we use is 50% PG / 50% VG . After testing many different ratios, we’ve found that this blend produces the ideal combination of flavor, vapor density, and harshness on the back of the throat.
You can’t feel it when you inhale, and it starts to mask the flavor. Also, because VG is a thicker liquid, e-liquids that use 100% VG cannot be used in the eGo-T cartridge because it doesn’t wick properly. With the ratio we use, the vapor replicates the harshness of regular smoke very closely without being so harsh that it causes discomfort or coughing, as is often the case with liquids that use 100% PG.
At 50% PG, you still get great flavor without sacrificing vapor production. We are very happy with the e liquids that we offer, and once you try them, you’ll see the difference for yourself.
